Mistakes

This morning I think I made an important discovery. It occurred to me that every mistake has a degree of severity. Now that I’ve thought of this, I’ve decided to be able to rank those mistakes on a scale of one to a hundred, just for kicks. For instance, picking up the wrong toothbrush would probably rank .5/100. Using it, depending on how much of a germaphobe you are, could be anywhere from 2 to 10. (For me, it’d probably be about a 3.) I’d say that anything from 1-10 is the sort of mistake you could make every day, such as forgetting your keys, cellphone, ipod, etc. or maybe jumping into the shower while the water’s still freezing cold. I’m thinking 20-40 would be slightly worse, having consequences that could reach into the immediate or less immediate future, such as getting pulled over by a cop because you were in a rush and getting a big fat bill in your mailbox the week after, or saying something to one of your friends that you really shouldn’t have said and have them not speak to you for a few days or a week. 40-60 is life changing mistakes. Telling yourself you desperately want to be a lawyer then hating your job for 20 years, or marrying because your girlfriend is pregnant and you’re hopelessly bound to the religion you believe in. 60-80 is specifically reserved for corrupt politicians or running for congress. ( I may have just repeated myself there.) Finally, 80-100 is world changing mistakes. Examples would include Going to war with Iraq (or, really, bombing the living crap out of them,) having a holocaust on a different race, committing genocide, nukes of any sort, and G. W. Bush Jr. in general.
If anyone disagrees with the last sentence… Then tell me why your opinion is right (or better, if you swing that way about opinions.) Don’t pull out the ‘unpatriotic’ bullshit either. I’m Canadian, so it’s utterly impossible, eh
If writing that was a mistake, I think it’d be about a… 2. And a waste of time.
Enough pointless writing for now.
Cheers!
